We aim to meet the goals of special drives to support faculty and students to further position Carolina as the nation’s leading public university. They are:
The Campaign for Faculty Support
This drive aims to raise $100 million to complete the $500 million goal for faculty support in the recent Carolina First Campaign. This initiative stresses support for early- and mid-career faculty and Eminent Professorships, as these are the only endowments that fully create and fund a new faculty position. More information…
Merit-based Student Support
The Carolina Merit Scholarship Campaign is a $60 million drive that will enable us to double the number of institutionally funded scholarships that we currently offer. The drive is being carried out in three phases, with the first $20 million endowing 200 new in-state and 20 new out-of-state merit-covenant based scholarships. The Carolina Covenant Campaign is a $20 million drive to support the Carolina Covenant, our groundbreaking initiative to give the children of low-income families an opportunity to attend Carolina — without borrowing a penny.
We also need funds for building projects and the Annual Fund, which gives donors the opportunity to support the school or unit of their choice as well as make unrestricted gifts that the chancellor can use to meet our key priorities.
